Alcaidesa Golf Course
Alcaidesa Golf is perhaps the closest you will get to playing a "links" style golf course on the Costa del Sol Golf. The design and layout of the holes running alongside the beach give you the feeling you are playing on the Scottish links, albeit the climate is somewhat different to the Costa del Sol, Spain.
Built to a design by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark in 1992, slight alterations and hole changes over the years has made Alcaidesa Golf one of the Costa Del Sol Golf’s most popular golf courses.
Alcaidesa Golf Course boasts of having well-defined fairways and large greens being of the very highest quality.
It is a challenging golf course for all level of player’s with several holes where caution is required. Hit the ball straight and you will enjoy the course immensely but if you are a little wayward then there could be trouble ahead.
If the worse came to the worse you can always admire the views.
There are some tremendous holes with the Par 3 second being quite magnificent particularly if you are off the back tees. The redesigned Par 5 fifteenth is another which can take your breath away particularly if you are a big hitter and want to try and reach the green in two over the water.
Alcaidesa Golf Course can be so beautiful to play in perfect weather with those stunning views but watch out when the sea breeze is about. This is when the golf course shows its teeth and your score can climb.
You can walk Alcaidesa Golf Course as the course is quite easily to walk but there are ample buggies available and these are certainly recommended for the hotter months of the Costa del Sol Golf.
